The 52 Weeks Project continues as we explore weekly, the eternal facts of the ancient Egyptian Pharohs'  passion for immortality through mummification.

Obsessed with the notion of the afterlife, most rulers upon the moment of their inception to the throne, and even sometimes at the hour of birth, begin to build their eventual tomb. What they have achieved is even by today's standards, remarkable, andwhile not necessarily the exact picture of immortality they hoped to achieve, they certainly accomplished no small measure of eternity. These weekly portraits pay homage to that and those who remain.
